Standard text messaging (SMS) is not a secure or encrypted method of communication. Under Alberta’s Health Information Act (HIA), we must protect your health information from unauthorized access or disclosure. Because SMS does not meet required security standards, please do not send any personal health information—such as injury details, assessment findings, imaging results, exercise program questions, or personal identifiers—by text. For secure communication, please call our clinic or use our approved secure patient portal, Jane.

Standard email may not adequately protect this information from unauthorized access. Please avoid sending any sensitive or identifiable health information by email.
